With over 15 years of experience within the learning and development space, I have refined my craft as an end-to-end instructional designer—across multiple industries, audiences, and delivery formats—I stay grounded in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) principles.
Originally rooted in the highly regulated world of the nuclear sector, SAT gave me a rock-solid foundation in designing and project managing training solutions that are purposeful, measurable, and effective. These principles have stuck with me because, quite simply—they work.
SAT isn't just a framework; it’s a mindset. One that ensures every learning experience I oversee follows a structured, intentional flow:

- Analysis – I start by truly understanding the need. What’s the performance gap? Who’s the learner? What’s the environment like?
- Design – Next, I create a blueprint: clear objectives, engaging structure, and learner-centered design choices.
- Development – Then I bring it all to life—storyboarding, scripting, building resources and digital content tailored to the learner and outcome.
- Implementation – This is where we roll it out. Whether it’s facilitator-led, digital, blended, or on-the-job—each element is tested and ready.
- Evaluation – Lastly, I measure impact. Is it working? What’s landing well, and what needs refining? Continuous improvement is part of the plan.
But here's the thing, while SAT provides the structure, creativity is what makes it fly.
